MIRACLE CORNER: Shutting the Lion's Mouth and Healed Adrenal Tumor

Updated: Apr 10, 2020

I've had some crazy MIRACULOUS answers to prayer in my life. I made this Miracle Corner in my studio to remind me of them when trials come (because they do come... for all of us. That's the nature of this life on earth.) As I add little cards with the stories of answered prayers, I'm going to share them with you. What good are God's miracles if you keep them to yourself? Here are TWO to get started.

1. SHUTTING THE LION'S MOUTH Someone in my life was facing a really difficult situation with his new boss. He worked freelance and the only job he could find was working for a man who was known as a monster and tyrant. The company owner screamed at the people working for him, cursed them out and fired people constantly. He was in a position of power and he got results, so his company thrived despite his reputation for abuse.

I got this image of Daniel in the lion's den in my mind when my friend told me about the situation. God had sent an angel to shut the lion's mouths, so I prayed that God would shut that man's mouth, that no abuse or cursing would come out of his mouth when my friend was around him. I told my friend to pray every single day before work that God would shut that lion's mouth.

My friend was at that job for several weeks and despite the fact that the boss cursed and ranted at everyone in the office, he never said one negative word to my friend. In fact, he even complimented him, which he never did for anyone.

During his last day on the job, my friend was called into the office by the boss. The boss said "Sit down, I need to tell you something. I like you and I don't like anybody. I'm not sure why that is, but I do. I like you. I'll tell you something else. There's something different about you and I can't put my finger on it. But I like you, so don't forget it."

2. ADRENAL TUMOR: In 2011, I had an adrenal crisis that landed me in the hospital for ten long days. It nearly took my life. Doctors found a tumor on my adrenal gland and were going to operate. They would have to remove the entire gland because removing just the tumor was not possible. A friend of mine brought some women to my house to pray over me. One of them looked at me and asked "Do you want this surgery?"

I was kind of confused and I said "Ummm... no.... but I need it." Truth was, I was terrified. The recovery is a nightmare and having one adrenal gland left causes a whole host of problems for life.

She said "You refuse that tumor right now and pray it out of you!" She had done the same thing a few years before. So we prayed hard. I never prayed so hard in my life. When I got the CT scan to prepare for surgery, the tumor was gone. The doctor said that there was a little shadow where it had been and I had been given a miracle. The shadow looked like a tiny thumbprint and the radiologist said he had never seen anything like it.

The harder the trials, the harder I pray. Some days I spend the entire day in prayer. The best way to fight sometimes is on your knees. I have had some heavy trials lately but prayer gets me through and keeps my pixie dust flowing.

If you don't believe in prayer, this is what I think. It certainly cannot hurt to try. It's free and all it takes is saying words. It makes you feel better and calms the spirit.
